Meet the new SigEp NY Rho AVC Board of Directors
Gabriel F. Vazquez (AE) | AVC President
Gabe has spearheaded the recent effort to reestablish all that is Sigma Phi Epsilon New York Rho. His leadership has been showcased in his tireless attempts to bring alumni back together, reestablish NY Rho’s good name with Nationals, rebuild the AVC, and re-charter the undergraduate chapter at St John’s University. Currently living in northern VA, Gabe is a government contractor and a Ph.D. student in Homeland Security.
John P. O’Dowd (AH) | AVC Secretary
John is well known throughout NY Rho as the community phonebook. Need to get a hold of someone? Call John first. He has worked closely with Gabe in a jack-of-all-trades role. When something needed to get done, John was and is the guy to see it through. His organization skills and love of SigEp have been vital in his role. John currently lives on Long Island and works as a teacher at a bilingual (French/English) preschool in Harlem
Anthony Ayala (AΓ) | AVC Treasurer
Anthony has taken charge of the fundraising efforts of the AVC thus far. His efforts have made possible all of the events that have taken place over the past year. Anthony has a professional background in banking and financial services, which have provided him the skills to establish and maintain the financials of the AVC. He currently lives on Long Island and works as a Community Lending Specialist for non-bank lender, LoanDepot.
Cesar Pozo (AΔ) | Board Member
Cesar has been instrumental in establishing a positive report with Nationals. He attended Conclave this year in Denver in an effort to build new relationships and show the leaders of the fraternity that we are serious about a re-charter. Cesar has also organized several events to bring brothers back together in a variety of venues. He lives in the heart of NYC and works as a senior investment adviser at a boutique firm, Worden Capital
Jorge M. Marte (AE) | Board Member
Jorge’s background in communications has been monumental in reconnecting our alumni. His expertise has paved the way for electronic communications (i.e. this newsletter) and a chapter-wide notification system. He is also in the process of building a chapter website to function as our communications hub. Jorge lives in northern Tennessee and works as a Senior Network Management Rep at Anthem Inc, a palliative care company.
Rico Otway (AB) | Board Member
Rico has been an invaluable resource in the push to reconnect with alumni who have been out of touch for so long. Rico has always had a knack for making deep & meaningful connections with people; translating into a well-maintained network of brothers spanning generations. This has laid the foundation for our chapter reunification. Rico manages a team of financial advisors at UBS, and is living in Manhattan, NY.
